Strong and technically adept, the creative Ernst Ocwirk was the guiding force behind the powerful Austrian sides of the 1940's. Having made his name in his homeland, he moved to Sampdoria, spending five years there before returning to FK Austria - a team that he later coached to successive League titles in 1969 and 1970.
